An ongoing collaboration between ANS, Ford and Thielenhaus Technologies evaluates performance of the ANS Triboconditioning® process for valve train components in a pilot production environment. Initial trials confirm that Triboconditioning® has potential for significant reduction of friction in the flat tappet and roller finger follower valve trains. A technical account of research data accumulated within this project is to be presented at VDI – Valve Train Conference in Wurzburg, Germany, November 27-28, 2012.
